Actor Rajinikanth said that violence is not the way to solve any problem during protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in different parts of the country.
In a late-night tweet on Thursday, Rajinkant said: “Violence should not be a means of solving any problem. Indian people should be united and vigilant in their minds with the safety and welfare of the country.” Rajinikanth said the ongoing violence in the country hurt him. Rajinikanth, however, has not expressed his views on the CAA, saying that he will contest politics in the 2021 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and there are protests nationwide.
Rajinikanth’s response came the day after the violence in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka during protests against the revised Citizenship Act, which left two people dead in Mangalore in police firing.
