After playing fun-centric roles in films like ‘F2’ and ‘Venky Mama’, seasoned star Venkatesh is rolling in his upcoming film ‘Narappa’, which went on floors on Wednesday in the Tamil blockbuster ‘Asuran’ starring Dhanush. In Anantapur. Srikanth Addala is helming a rural based revenge saga. ‘Narappa’ will play the role of Venkatesh for two decades. In current episodes, he plays an older version of the character, with older children. In Flashback, he essays a smaller version of his character.

While Venkatesh repeats the role of Dhanush from the original, Priyamani slips into the shoes of Manju Warrior from ‘Asuran’. Mani Sharma has come forward to compose music. It is rumored that Venkatesh is losing weight to play a younger version of his own character. Based on the popular Tamil novel “Vekkai”, the Tamil original, Blockbuster, released last year, grossed over Rs 100 crore.

Directed by Vetrimaran, the film is a violent revenge story of a father seeking revenge for the brutal murder of his eldest son. Dhanush plays dual roles in the film, playing his role for two generations. The film is bankrolled by Suresh Productions and V Creations.
