MUMBAI: Five men, including a mother, brother and “husband” of a teenage girl, have been arrested on charges of forcible prostitution and rape, police said on Sunday.
According to a police official, the man’s mother was a minor but forced her to marry a man in April 2018, a Mankhurd police official said.
Her husband beat her up for sexual help, and then she returned to her mother’s home in Mankhurd, East Mumbai.
“A few months later, her mother took her to forcible adultery,” the official said, quoting the girl’s complaint on Saturday night.
According to the complaint, the officer said she had physical contact with a 60-year-old man for money and that Pimp’s husband had also sexually assaulted her.
The girl claimed that when she sought help from her brother, he raped her and threatened to kill her with a knife.
Various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rape and unnatural offenses, child protection from sexual offenses (Poxo) Act, Unlawful Smuggling Prevention Act (PITA) and Child Marriage Prevention Act have been filed.
Police are now searching for a 60-year-old man.
