Earlier this week, News Nation reported that a large asteroid known as the 2019 OU1 code was approaching Earth. Now, another asteroid known as 2018 PN22 is approaching dangerously close to Earth on August 17 at 7:16 pm (ST). Yes, you read that correctly. The Earth is in close contact with space rocks. Don’t worry, the asteroid 2018 PN22 will not hit the earth and we are all safe. Asteroids are small, rocky objects that orbit the sun. Space rocks (asteroids) reach Earth due to gravitational forces affecting them. Asteroids bring tsunamis, shock waves and flat winds.

Speaking of Asteroid 2018 PN22 specifically, Space Rock is about 62 feet long (the size of a school bus) and is currently approaching Earth at speeds of 5,000 miles per hour. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the asteroid 2018 PN22 will fly at a distance of 0.04385 astronomical units, or about 4 million miles.
It is worth noting here that the 2018 PN22 asteroids are not tagged as hazardous asteroids and do not represent future ision potential. However, NASA has classified JPL 2018 PN22 as a “near-Earth asteroid” due to its near-Earth orbit. Asteroid 2018 PN22 was last officially reviewed on September 7, 2018.

Recently, several deadly asteroids, including the 2019 OK, 2019 OD, 2015 HM10, 2019 OE, 2019 NN3, 2019 MB4, 2019 MT2, 2006 QV89, 2016 NO56M, RF12 and others, have landed on Earth, fortunately not on our planet. It is said that one day all living things on earth will be extinct. Not only life, but the earth itself will someday disappear and an asteroid may be the cause. However, at the moment we are safe.
