Ghantasala Srinivas Sai Taman Siva Kumar, better known as S Taman, has composed music for many blockbuster films in Tollywood. He had a difficult childhood because his father died when he was 13 years old. As he celebrates his birthday on Saturday, we look at his journey so far and his upcoming projects in this special birthday post!
Born on November 16, 1983, in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, Taman first started working for prominent composers like SP Balasubramanyam, G Anand, Raj-Koti group, MM Keeravani, Vandemataram Srinivas, Chakra, RP Patnaik and Devi Sri Prasad. He made his debut as a music director in 2009 with the Tamil film Sindhanai See. His first Telugu film was Kick (2009), starring Ravi Teja and Ileana De Cruz. He received his first Sima Award in 2011 for Best Musical Director for the film Dooku.
He has worked in more than 100 films since the beginning of his career. He has won ten prestigious awards so far, SIIMA Award for Best Music Director for Dookudu, SIIMA Award for Best Music Director for “Sir Osthara” – Businessman, SIIMA Award for Most streaming song for “Aagadu title song” – Aagadu, Filmfare Award for Best Music Director – Telugu for Dookudu, and several other awards.
Apart from composing, he has crooned for many popular music tracksin Tollywood. Some of his super hit numbers, including Vaishali Vaishali from Mirapakay, Naari Naari from Aagadu, Endhukoo from Bodyguard, Sir Osthara from Businessman, Kathi Lanti Pilla from Naayak, Kajal Chellivaa from Balupu, Down Down Down from Race Gurram and Ninnila from Tholi Prema.
The most anticipated announcements have been received by fans, with Taman announcing his upcoming projects as a composer! Venky Mama tops the list, followed by Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Both films have received a welcome response and will be released next year.Venky Mama is directed by KS Ravindra and produced by Suresh Productions in association with People’s Media Factory.
Thaman’s another exciting project is Krack. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and Gopichand Malineni are reuniting for this action-entertainer. The movie will be showcasing Ravi Teja actor as a tough and fierce cop. South beauty Shruti Haasan has been confirmed as the leading lady. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Samuthirakani are also part of the movie. While Thaman S will be composing the music, Sai Madhav Burra will pen the dialogues for Krack, and Ram Laxman will choreograph the action sequences.
