
Former India Open batsman VB Chandrasekhar was found dead at his home in Chennai on Thursday. According to police sources, the 57-year-old may commit suicide. “This is because of financial obligations,” a senior police officer told NDTV. Suicide note recovery has not been made and the investigation is ongoing. Researchers say the Tamil Nadu Premier League team owned by the former cricketer may link the financial burden with “VB Kanchi Veerans”. Chandrasekhar has represented India in seven One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and has an average of 43.09 in first-class cricket.
The news of Chandrasekhar’s death shocked the cricket fraternity. Indian cricketers took to Twitter to pay tribute to the former Indian selector. Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina expressed disbelief on the incident
MS Dhoni was brought to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League by Chandrasekhar. Chandrashekhar worked as a manager for a Chennai-based franchise for three years.

Vb Chandrashekhar played 81 first class matches and scored 4999 runs in 124 innings with 10 centuries and 23 half centuries.
Chandrasekhar made his New Zealand debut in 1988. Two years later, he played his last ODI against Australia at Hamilton.
The 57-year-old India batsman scored an unbeaten 237 for Goa against Kerala, one of the highlights of his career.
