The party sought directions from the Supreme Court in its petition to declare the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, “unconstitutional, void and dysfunctional” passed by Parliament on Wednesday.
Officials told that in the latest attacks in Kashmir, around 400 people, including three business leaders, a university professor, mainstream and separatist activists, surrounded the police. Activists of NC and PDP were also detained.
The SC on Thursday refused to hear the petition urgently challenging the President’s orders on Article 370. The bench, headed by Justice NV Ramana, said that the petition filed by lawyer ML Sharma would be heard in a timely manner.
