
The campaign also aims to ensure plasma donors get the right nutrition. Besides this, the state government will also give Rs 15,000 to perform the last rites of those who died of Covid-19.
Sharing more information about the special plasma donation campaign. State Health Commissioner Katamneni Bhaskar said, “A database of eligible donors has been prepared and is currently being shared to blood banks with the facility to take and store plasma.”
Bhaskar said the health department’s call centre will be in touch with those who have recovered from Covid-19 and will educate them about the plasma donation programme. He said the authorities would also try to encourage them to donate plasma and save the lives of other people.
Currently, the state government is spending about Rs 15 crore on a daily basis for the entire Covid-19 arrangements including food, lodging, medicines and other things. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy is regularly updating the pandemic situation in the state.
