Civilian officials said the storm was expected to blow at 114 km/h in Mumbai on Monday afternoon as the storm passed close to the Mumbai coast.

Cyclone Toukte began making landfall off the Gujarat coast on Monday night. Two lakh people were evacuated in Gujarat. Taukte, the most devastating storm to hit Gujarat in nearly 23 years, hit the Gujarat coast in Saurashtra between DU and Una around 9 pm, and ended around 12 am on Tuesday, the Indian Meteorological Department said.
At least six people were killed, nine injured in Maharashtra on Monday and four died in Gujarat on Monday as Cyclone Taukte intensified.
