This is the first death of a doctor who was fully vaccinated against Covid-19 disease, The Indian Express reported, citing Dr. P K Bharadwaj, chief executive director of Saroj Hospital.
According to the report, Dr. Rawat received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in early March. Despite being vaccinated for more than a month, he contracted the virus in late April.
Initially, the surgeon was home alone, but he had to be rushed to hospital when his oxygen level began to sink, the report said. Two days before his death, he was placed on a ventilator and developed severe pneumonia, leading to respiratory failure.

“We gave him what he needed. We did as much as we could. It’s a huge loss. This is currently the first death of a doctor who has been fully vaccinated,” Bharadwaj was quoted as saying
