India registers highest one-day rise in COVID-19 deaths, 2.67 lakh new cases

India reported 4,529 new Corona virus-related deaths and surpassed the ODI record of 4,329 deaths recorded on Tuesday.

There have been 2,67,334 new covid-19 cases and 3,89,851 recoveries in the country in the last 24 hours. There are now 32,26,719 active cases across the country.

India now has a total of 2,54,96,330 cases of coronavirus, of which 2,19,86,363 have been discharged, with 2,83,248 dying of the virus. Earlier on Tuesday, the country recorded daily recoveries of more than 4 lakh covid patients in a single day for the first time. India’s total active coronavirus cases account for more than 70 percent in eight states.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of covid-19 vaccine doses given in the country is 18.58 crore.

About 5.14 lakh beneficiaries aged 18-44 received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Tuesday. A total of 64.60 lakh people have been vaccinated in the same age group in 36 states and Uts so far since phase-3 of the vaccination drive began.
