Two women out for a morning walk were killed while a third woman and a man sustained injuries after a speeding car lost control and hit them from behind Tuesday morning. The incident took place around 6 am near Sun City in Bandlaguda Jagir on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The Narsingi police, which registered a case, said the driver of the car abandoned the vehicle in the nearby bushes and fled the spot. A hunt is on to trace the driver.
Two nearby CCTV cameras filmed the accident, and a footage of it has already gone popular on social media. The owner of the car has been discovered, and the police are searching through information to find him.
According to the clippings, the car struck the victims after failing to negotiate a corner while travelling at a fast rate of speed. The automobile struck a tree after knocking the three walkers off the ground.
The bodies were those of Anuradha and her daughter Mamta, according to the authorities. Along with the mother and daughter, another woman who had suffered grave injuries was walking by the side of the road. Both the injured man and the injured woman, named as Kavitha and Kavitha, respectively, are receiving care at a private hospital.
